The Guilt are a riot grrrl electropunk duo from Malmö, Sweden, led by Emma Anitchka (vocals, machines, knives) alongside guitarist/bassist Lizzy (ex-Ragata, Arre Arre!), who joined in 2022. Together they deliver a volatile mix of no wave disco, electroclash, goth, and body punk — somewhere between Bikini Kill, Sisters of Mercy, and a 2 Unlimited meltdown. Furious, danceable, and darkly funny, their music feels like anger management for the club floor.
Following their 2023 cassette EP Note to Tape, featuring remixes by GHLOW, ABU NEIN, and 100BLUMEN, The Guilt have pushed their sound further into garage goth ballads, shredded punk beats, and queer electronic chaos. In 2025, they return with a new album packed with queer anthems, sharp hooks, and songs about surviving the world as a “pretty basic witch.” If your ideal night involves dancing, screaming, and maybe both at once, The Guilt are for you.
