Duschpalatset was, from the very beginning, far too good a secret to keep hidden in their hometown of Umeå. On their debut album Vinnarmusik (“Winner Music”), they managed to win over the rest of the country with their squeaky indie-pop and raw coming-of-age stories. Soon after the follow-up album Baby, they headed to the UK with The Wannadies. Since then, Duschpalatset has been on a victory lap that refuses to stop, steadily gathering an exponentially growing crowd of devoted followers.
Their third album, "Du du du du du", was released in April and the band themselves describe the title as something dadaist. A repetition that moves in a circle and keeps going. It could be a melody to sing along to, or to sing to someone else, but it repeats itself. There's never been a better time to discover Duschpalatset. The album opens in top gear with the single Jag tror jag är sjuk (“I Think I’m Sick”), two minutes of sun-warmed jangle-pop about being so hopelessly in love that you would give someone your free time, your paycheck, and everything you have. A must-see live band for sure!
