Sweden’s newest rock stars. Just over a year ago, the band was still in its infancy — five friends hanging out in Borlänge who started playing Mando Diao covers in a basement to pass the time. Their influences are clear, with the band citing artists like The Beatles and The Hellacopters, but they also emphasize the almost accidental chemistry that emerges when Occrasy write songs together. “We’re cool, we go all in, and we’re here to save rock’n’roll,” the band says about themselves.
Since releasing their debut single “Local Coke” last year, Borlänge-based Occrasy have taken over more and more stages across Sweden, quickly becoming one of the country’s most talked-about new bands. With their explosive and distinctive live presence, they’ve rapidly emerged as part of a new wave of messy, sweaty, and unfiltered guitar music currently sweeping across Sweden. While many bands spend years searching for their sound, Occrasy developed a strong musical identity within just a few months. Their debut EP, released in August via Roxy Recordings/Playground Music, was created together with producer Niklas Berglöf and recorded at the legendary Studio Gröndal in Stockholm.
