Spomenik began in 2022 when Johannes and his bandmate decided to breathe life into all those forgotten song ideas. What started as a few modest sketches quickly grew into a creative spark that drew in guitarist Joel and drummer Frida. Their first shows revealed a band unafraid to mix tenderness with chaos, and to chase emotion wherever it led.

Today, Spomenik’s sound lands somewhere between Kate Bush, Jethro Tull and Captain Beefheart — playful, unpredictable and full of heart. With songs like I Am Here and Laurie, the Gothenburg quartet invites listeners into a vivid world where art-rock meets raw storytelling and nothing stays still for long.
