Listening to Rekordåren is about letting yourself travel across genres between influences from Swedish folk, blues, prog, and jazz. At times, the music brings to mind Mando Diao or Den stora vilan; at other moments, JJ Cale or a country aesthetic feels closer at hand. A common thread runs through the Swedish lyrics, interwoven with instrumental playfulness and improvisation.
Swedish music magazine GAFFA has named them “one of the most interesting bands on the Swedish indie scene right now.” Beyond that, they remain a stubbornly Gothenburg phenomenon, thriving on grey skies, sea spray, and an uncanny knack for making every show feel like a backyard party with old friends, complete with singalongs and unplanned extended jams.
