Spela Död is that kind of collectivist, raw guitar rock in Swedish that just makes you ridiculously happy. The songs take off on their own terms into rural mythology, night work, doomsday, and decadence. Sometimes reminiscent of the Swedish “nyprogg” movement, and always with melodies that pop. In 2025, they released their second album on vinyl, NATTPASS, which is a great example of how the band has increasingly let the electric guitars take over the pop elements in their sound. When Spela Död is on stage, life is always one hell of a party!

With members drawn from acts such as Givana, Orkan, Berg & Bedragare, Machetes, and The Nevrotix, Spela Död consists of Jon-E Jonasson, Christoffer Berg, Moa-Linn Rosenlöf, Josefine Green, Pablo Copa, and Cecil Kriisin.
