Gothenburg’s KAZEA is a heavy genre-bending postmetal trio that exists in between personal and political. The trio forges dark and visceral anthems, melding the power of post-rock, the haunting melodies of neofolk, and the crushing weight of sludge, carving their own path in the metal landscape. Drawing inspiration from bands like Wovenhand, Cult Of Luna, This Will Destroy You, among others, KAZEA’s live performances are an emotionally raw and stripped-down experience, where each song is delivered with a fierce and primordial passion.
The band is comprised of former Orochen members Jonas Mattsson and Rasmus Lindblom, who joined forces with drummer Daniel Olsson (Hellsongs) during the summer of 2023, marking the inception of KAZEA. Their debut album, I. Ancestral, is a cathartic exploration of heritage, pain and redemption, brought to life in June 2024 with the sonic alchemy of Ulf Blomberg of HoboRec (Recording & Mixing) and Magnus Lindberg from Cult Of Luna (Mastering).
