Born in Kullabygden, Presidenten is Skåne power pop sung in the dialect of Blekinge, with a deep affection for the countryside. With one foot firmly planted in 90s indie pop and the other in 70s glam rock, the lyrics explore themes like disdain for big cities, rural romance, bullying, longing, grief, and reflections on life and death.

The lyrics are personal, confessional, and often drawn from lived experience. Presidenten was formed in 2019 by Benjamin Högh (Hurricane Love) and Fredrik Kurzawa (Kristian Anttila). In 2022, the first songs were released, while 2023 saw the release of the EP Kan själv, followed in March 2024 by the single Nådastöt. By then, the band lineup had settled with Benjamin Högh on vocals and guitar, Love Ekenberg on drums, and Jörgen Brorsson on bass. During 2024, Presidenten released no fewer than six singles and a music video.
