Sam Sumpter is the Brooklyn-based human behind Bands do BK (@bandsdobk). Founded as a blog in 2018, it has since expanded into a book, a newsletter and concerts and festival showcases in NYC and beyond. Along with writing and booking/promoting shows, she’s also an on-air host at NYC non-commercial radio station 90.7 WFUV (an NPR affiliate) and the manager of multiple Brooklyn bands, including Viva Sounds vets Mary Shelley. The endeavor she’s currently most stoked on is Scene.Exchange - an international network of bands helping bands, plus city guides crafted by artists for everyone.
