Leif Pagrotsky is the Chairman of Gothenburg & Co, the official tourism organization of Gothenburg. Göteborg & Co, owned by the City of Gothenburg, is the parent company of a cluster consisting of subsidiaries active within tourism, culture and events (Liseberg AB, Got Event AB and Stadsteatern i Göteborg AB). Leif is a Swedish economist, politician, and diplomat from Gothenburg. In addition to being Minister of Commerce and Industry, and Minister for Culture and Education, he has held several high-ranking posts in Swedish Government Offices, including State Secretary for Financial Affairs in the Ministry of Finance and Vice Chair of the Council of Riksbanken, Sweden's central bank.
In addition to his finance-related positions he has always been an advocate for the arts. He has been a board member of the National Theatre of Norway and a board member of the Swedish Performing Rights Society (STIM). In 2016 Leif Pagrotsky was appointed Consul General of Sweden in New York City. With a deep passion for culture Leif has worked hard for promoting the Swedish music industry abroad.
