Robyn Stewart

Women in Music Canada, CA

Robyn Stewart is the Executive Director of Women in Music Canada, a national nonprofit focused on advancing equity in the music industry. Based in Winnipeg, she took on the role in 2022 after more than eight years leading BreakOut West and the Western Canadian Music Alliance. With over 22 years in the industry, Robyn is a respected speaker on topics such as gender equity, mentorship, pay gaps, work-life balance, and #MeToo.
At WIMC, she has launched impactful programs including the Honours Awards, Summit, Mentorship Program, and two national accelerators. She also led export initiatives like Tallinn Music Week (Estonia) and a 2022 trade mission to Sweden. Her work emphasizes diversity, equity, and inclusion, with major research partnerships such as Share The Air (2024) on gender in Canadian radio, and a current caregiving study with Music Publishers Canada. A former theatre stage manager, Robyn brings deep expertise in talent buying, financial management, and large-scale logistics—having led entertainment planning for the 2010 Vancouver Olympics and 2015 Pan Am Games. She is Vice-Chair of the Polaris Music Prize, Chair of the Heart and Stroke Foundation Advisory Board of Manitoba, and serves on the Young Music Professionals Board. Robyn is also a proud mother of two.
