Born in Omagh, Northern Ireland - Mark Orr got his start in music promoting rock and punk shows in his hometown of Blackpool, before founding LAB Records at the age of 20 in 2007. Now an independent label with upwards of 300 catalogue releases and north of 1.5 billion streams, notable current artists and alumni include The K’s, South Arcade, Tommy Lefroy, Aziya, Des Rocs, Beach Weather, Yoke Lore, The Lathums, Basht., Big Sleep, Crawlers, BEKA & Antony Szmierek among many others. The label is distributed by ADA / Warner and has multiple top 40 albums under its belt - including most notably The K’s ‘Pretty On The Internet’ - which became only the second ever release on a Manchester label (and the first since New Order on the iconic Factory Records in 1989) to reach the album chart summit.
